Pray for Orlando

June 13, 2016

The Counterpart community is shocked and saddened by the horrible tragedy in Orlando, where a man filled with hate and fear took the lives of so many vibrant, innocent people at the Pulse Club.

Our community of 450 individuals is heterogeneous.  We are proud that we are straight and gay, we come from all of the world’s religions including Islam, and we come from both ethnic majority and ethnic minority communities.  We have chosen to come together to build a more just and stable world.

Our community – spread over more than 20 countries – embraces our differences.  We know that our diversity makes us stronger, wiser and more compassionate.  It brings out our better selves.  And it gives us the seed of a legacy worthy of our children, our nieces and nephews, our friends today, and all of those who we will come to know in the future.  We are bound together, in all of our blinding, painful, exquisite complexities. We are not afraid.  At Counterpart, we work every day to create a more inclusive society.

Join us – do something today to show that you stand with us for inclusion and compassion.
